May 16, 2017 shall be a milestone in the history of the Pious Schools in India, because in that day happened the opening of the Novitiate of the Demarcation. The Bishop of Calicut blessed the new House, located in Sulthan Bathery (Waynad, Kerala), and Fr. General proceeded to the official opening of the Novitiate of the Vice-province. Eleven are the new novices, the first making their year of Novitiate in India. So far, all the religious of India have made their novitiate first in Cameroon and then in the Philippines.

The celebration has been bursting with joy. Most of the Piarists of India, many priests, religious men and women, the families of many of our Piarist brothers, and many people close to us, as well as the novices of the Vice-province, up to a total of 500 people were present, sharing this important day for our Order in India, which opens a new Novitiate in the Calasanctian Jubilee Year.

We wholeheartedly congratulate the Vice-province on this new step of growth and consolidation, and we join in prayer for the fruits of the Novitiate House “Saint Joseph Calasanz” of the Vice-province of India.
