On July 16, the community of Gaztambide, Province of Bethany, hosted 22 religious from different latitudes where the Order of the Pious Schools is present and extends its charism. All fraternally welcomed by Fr. Daniel Hallado, the superior provincial.

The participants were 7 young religious from Asia, 3 from Africa, 4 from Europe and 6 from America, and two coordinators: Fr. Jean de Dieu Tagne, who resides in the community of the Congo, and Fr. Julio Alberto Álvarez Díaz, from the Province of Mexico.

We started the day with a celebration in which we deeply reflected on and felt the call to sanctity in the Pious School. Aided by the example of Saint Joseph Calasanz, our founder, whose exemplary life and sanctity have been acknowledged by the Church in that same day 250 years ago, as well as by the visit in Getafe to Blessed Faustino Míguez. Mother Sacramento Calderón, Superior General of the Calasanctian Sisters, helped us to revisit the memories of their founder, who will be soon canonized.

In an atmosphere of fraternity, communion, celebration and gratitude we ended our meeting with a visit to the painting of the “Last Communion of Saint Joseph Calasanz”, whose author is the famous painter and former student Goya. We thank all the attentions received from the two piarist communities in Getafe and Gaztambide. Thanks to the Province of Betania for their welcoming reception.

Echoing Blessed Faustino Míguez, we say: It is better to let God do his work “Dejemos obrar a Dios que para mejor será
