“We must look to the past with gratitude, live the present with passion, embrace the future with hope.” (Pope Francis)

Reflecting on these words, we can think of a person whom we love very much, Fr. Mario Vizcaíno Sch. P.

Last Friday, May 1, 2020, at 6:30 p.m., at the Chapel of the Community of the Piarist Fathers in Fort Lauderdale, FL, the anniversary of his sixty years as a Piarist priest was celebrated, in a special way and that even he could not imagine.

Although a little different, since the pandemic has affected us all, the celebration of the Eucharist was broadcast live on Zoom and Facebook. More than 1,000 people were part of this great celebration which greatly excited Fr. Mario as his wish was to celebrate it with all the people of God. After such an emotional mass, we had a community dinner and then we gave him a big surprise. We prepared the projector in our room and presented a video of thanks for all these years at the service to the Church and the Pious Schools. In this presentation, he was able to see messages from his family, friends, brothers and a very special message from our Superior General, Fr. Pedro Aguado, and from our Provincial, Fr. Fernando Negro.

Thank you, Father Mario, because by your example we can see the face of Jesus and St. Joseph Calasanz. May, with God’s favor, be many more years.
