The Reverend Father Carlos Enrique Curiel Herrera, Sch. P., was born on July 4, 1960 in Carora, Estado Lara, Venezuela. Prior to joining the seminary, from 1978 to 1985, he studied medicine and surgery at Los Andes College in Mérida (Venezuela), with a postgraduate degree in Anesthesiology and practiced the medical profession for several years. He entered the Order of the Pious Schools and completed his theological studies at the Institute of Theology for Religious in Caracas (1991-1996). He made the religious profession on August 2, 1993 and received the priestly ordination on December 12, 1997.
Within his Order he has occupied the following positions: Director of Saint Joseph Calasanz School in Valencia, Venezuela (1998-2003); Rector of the Community of the Piarist Fathers Mons. Salvador Montes de Oca in Valencia, Venezuela (2000-2003); Chaplain of Juvenile Penitentiary Centers in Valencia, Venezuela (2002-2004); Teacher and Rector of the Piarist Formation House in the Vice-province of Venezuela (2004-2006); Vice-provincial Assistant of the Vice-province of Venezuela (2004-2011); Director of the Educational Unit Monsignor Oscar Arnulfo Romero and parochial vicar of San Lorenzo in Barquisimeto, Venezuela (2006-2008); President of the Piarist House Saint Joseph Calasanz in Barquisimeto, Venezuela (2006-2007).
When he moved to Bolivia, he served the following positions: Parish Priest of Apostle Santiago in Anzaldo, in the Archdiocese of Cochabamba (2008-2017); Rector of the Piarist Community Our Lady of the Pious Schools in Anzaldo (2009-2010 and 2013-2017); Consultant to the Vicar Superior of the Piarists, Vicariate of Bolivia (2011-2013); Assistant of the Vice-province of Brazil-Bolivia (since 2015).
Since 2017 he is General Vicar of the Archdiocese of Cochabamba.
