On August 4 was held in India the priestly ordination of Fr. Vinod Angadathu George, Piarist religious of the Province of the United States and Puerto Rico. The ordination took place in Nanthirikal, in the parish of Saint Rita of Casia, and was presided over by the Archbishop Emeritus of Guwahati, Mgr Thomas Menanparampil.
Vinod was accompanied by his father, brothers and relatives, by numerous Piarists of India, some Piarists of his Province who travelled specifically to be present at this important moment in the life of Vinod (Fr. Provincial Fernando Negro, Fr. David Powers, Fr. Luis A. Cruz, Bro. Orlando Rodriguez), and by many people of his parish and friends. Fr. General Pedro Aguado also accompanied Vinod in the celebration of his ordination.
Just after being ordained, Vinod assumed the Presidency of the Eucharist, at the express wish of the Bishop who had ordained him. Everyone lived this moment so unique with great emotion.
The next day, Sunday, August 5, Fr. Vinod celebrated his “first mass”. At the end, many people thanked God for this ordination.
Let us pray for Fr. Vinod, that God bless his Piarist priestly ministry.
