On Sunday, February 2, the Solemnity of the Presentation of the Lord and the Day of Consecrated Life, the young men Mateo Gordillo and Paulo Monsalve made their simple profession in the Order of the Pious Schools. The ceremony was presided over by the Provincial, Fr. Oswaldo Espinoza, Sch. P., and was attended by Piarists from the communities of Bogot\u00e1, some Piarists from other piarist presences, the Piarist Sisters and the Calasanctian Sisters (or the correct title for each congregation), as well as a large number of family members, students, former students, and neighbors from the area. During the same celebration, the junior professed (or juniors) David Villada, Mauricio C\u00e1rdenas, Daniel Fernandes, and Juan Diego Botero renewed their simple vows.<\/p>\n

The simple profession of these new Piarists took place in the chapel of the San Jos\u00e9 de Calasanz School in Suba. In his homily, the Provincial Father recalled the value of the consecration of these brothers for the entire Calasanctian Family; he highlighted the courage they had in saying \u201cyes\u201d to the Lord, and he invited them to be faithful and to take care of the gift of the vocation they had received. The Provincial Father urged all present to live this vocation as a sign of hope, recalling the words of the Pope: \u201cHope never disappoints.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paulo and Mateo are graduates of the Calasanz School in Pereira, class of 2021. They completed the first year of their pre-novitiate in Quito and the second in Bogot\u00e1. In the same city, at the Calasanz Seminary, they carried out their novitiate year. Now they will begin their juniorate in Suba, working and living in the school in this area of Bogot\u00e1. The consecration of these brothers is a cause for joy for the entire Province of Nazareth.<\/p>\n
