Fr. Pedro Aguado, the Father General, visited the Piarist presence in Chile from 24 to 30 May. During his visit, Fr. Pedro went from house to house, accompanying the religious of the demarcation and overseeing the development and consolidation of the delegation. The General Delegation in Chile includes Piarist communities in: two in Santiago de Chile (Calasanz School, and Hispanoamericano School and Juniorate House), one in Curarrehue, and one in San Antonio.<\/p>\n

In the Chilean delegation, the Pious Schools carry out their Piarist ministry in four schools, three parishes, a social centre, and a retreat house. The Curarrehue mission is the southernmost Piarist presence in the entire Order, located in one of the southernmost inhabited regions of the planet. This mission is developed within a context rich in Mapuche traditions.<\/p>\n

Fr. Pedro Aguado\u2019s visit encouraged the demarcation to reflect on its identity as a Piarist presence and to consider key elements for the growth and consolidation of the Piarist mission in Chile. He held meetings with each Piarist community, with individual Piarists, with lay Piarists, with the Fraternities, with Calasanz Movement, with the pastoral secretariat, the economic secretariat, the formation and projects secretariat, and the leadership secretariat.<\/p>\n

The visit provided a fruitful opportunity for both Fr. Pedro Aguado and Fr. Julio Alberto \u00c1lvarez (General Assistant for America) to gather the inspirations the Holy Spirit brings forth in people, and to contribute to the building of the Pious Schools as St Joseph Calasanz dreamt them in Chile.<\/p>\n

The Piarist brothers offered the best of themselves to Father Pedro Aguado, who, as Father General, has walked with this demarcation. The generosity of the Piarist communities was a sign of deep gratitude for the service of Fr. Pedro, who has served as Superior General of the Order for 16 years.<\/p>\n
