\u201cTowards hope\u201d<\/em><\/strong> was the motto of the gathering of lay people of the Province of Poland, known as the Piarist Laity Festival, held from 3 to 5 October 2025. More than 60 people from the schools, from non-formal education initiatives in parishes, and from the Pious Schools Fraternity came to the retreat house of the Archdiocese of \u0141\u00f3d\u017a in Porszewice (Boles\u0142awiec, Elbl\u0105g, Katowice, Krak\u00f3w, \u0141owicz, Pozna\u0144 and Warszawa). The meeting was organised by the Secretariat for the Formation of Piarist Laity, together with Fr S\u0142awomir Dziadkiewicz, Delegate of the Provincial for the formation and charismatic integration of lay collaborators.<\/p>\n

The main theme was explored throughout the gathering by means of a series of talks: \u201cBiblical witnesses of hope in hopelessness\u201d,<\/em> given by Fr Jacek Wolan; \u201cHope in the life of Saint Joseph Calasanz\u201d<\/em>, given by Father General Carles Gil i Saguer; and \u201cChristian hope in the context of the current situation of the world and the Church\u201d<\/em>, prepared by Fr Dominik Bochenek.<\/p>\n

In the opening talk, the history of these provincial gatherings was recalled, since this was their ninth edition. Since 2007, almost every year (sometimes every two or three), an autumn weekend meeting has been organised. From the outset they have had a twofold format\u2014fellowship and formation\u2014so that they have been and continue to be an opportunity to strengthen bonds, share experiences, address important issues and pray together for pupils and educators.<\/p>\n

By way of historical overview, the following gatherings stand out:<\/p>\n

  1. 27 October 2007, in Warszawa, with 147 participants.<\/li>\n
  2. 6 November 2010, in Warszawa, with the motto \u201cPiarist laity: a sleeping giant\u201d, 177 participants.<\/li>\n
  3. 11\u201313 October 2013, in Warszawa, under the motto \u201cReligious and laity: witnesses of faith in education\u201d, with 144 participants, not only from Poland but also from Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.<\/li>\n
  4. 16\u201318 October 2015, in Cz\u0119stochowa (Poland\u2019s Marian shrine), with the theme \u201cMother of God of the Pious Schools\u201d, about 137 participants.<\/li>\n
  5. 27\u201329 October 2017, in Liche\u0144, more than 160 people celebrated the Calasanctian Jubilee Year with the key words \u201cEducate, proclaim, transform\u201d.<\/li>\n
  6. 4\u20136 October 2019, in Liche\u0144, 120 participants; the theme related to the motto of the Church in Poland: \u201cIn the power of the Holy Spirit\u201d.<\/li>\n
  7. 21\u201323 October 2022, in Liche\u0144, with the motto \u201cLove the Church\u201d, 130 participants.<\/li>\n
  8. 20\u201322 October 2023, also in Liche\u0144, and for the last time there, 108 participants with the theme \u201cMy place: the Piarist community\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    On the last day of the gathering, in Porszewice, the Provincial, Fr Mateusz Pindelski, thanked the laity for their dedication to the Piarist educational mission and presented the provincial awards. The Sapere auso pro Professoribus<\/em> prize was awarded to Ewa Komu\u0144ska, from the \u0141owicz school, while the \u201cCalasanz and the Child\u201d<\/em> prize went to: Agnieszka Nawrocka (\u0141owicz school); El\u017cbieta Ogrodzka (Krak\u00f3w-Akacjowa school); Ma\u0142gorzata Dziedzic (Krak\u00f3w-Akacjowa school); Tomasz Tiso\u0144czyk (Krak\u00f3w-Akacjowa school); Beata Kubik (Krak\u00f3w-Wieczysta parish); Ewa Ostafin (Krak\u00f3w-Wieczysta parish); Agata Kozicka (Boles\u0142awiec school); and Agnieszka Orawiec (Boles\u0142awiec school).<\/p>\n
