CATARMAN, Northern Samar<\/p>\n

On January 31, 2026 \u2014 The Piarist Fathers of the Asia Pacific Province joyfully celebrated the priestly ordination of Fr. Hermito G. Espera Jr., Sch.P., held today at the Our Lady of the Annunciation Cathedral Parish.<\/p>\n

The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Most Rev. Nolly C. Buco, JCD, DD, Bishop of the Diocese of Catarman. Rooted in centuries-old Church tradition, the rite of ordination culminated in the laying on of hands, as Bishop Buco invoked the Holy Spirit and formally entrusted Fr. Hermito with his sacred ministry within the Order of Poor Cleric Regular of Mother of God of the Pious Schools (Piarist Father’s ).<\/p>\n

The momentous occasion gathered religious and lay faithful from various communities, reflecting the growing presence and vitality of the Piarist mission in Northern Samar. Fr. Miguel Artola, Sch.P., Provincial Superior, led Piarist priests and brothers from across the Philippines in warmly welcoming their newest confrere to the priesthood.<\/p>\n

The ordination also underscored the strong fraternal relationship between the Piarist Fathers and the local clergy. The Piarist community expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Diocese of Catarman, especially to its Chancellor, Fr. Clarence, for their gracious hospitality and unwavering support.<\/p>\n

The celebration was deeply personal for Fr. Hermito, as it was attended by the Espera family, friends, and classmates from various religious congregations. Adding to the joy of the day was the strong presence of the NOSEX (Northern Samar Ex-Seminarians) brothers, whose continued solidarity throughout Fr. Hermito\u2019s formation bore witness to the enduring bonds forged in seminary life.<\/p>\n

As the Piarist Fathers continue their mission of providing integral Christian education to young people throughout the Asia Pacific region, Fr. Hermito\u2019s ordination stands as a powerful sign of hope and inspiration. His journey affirms that the Piarist charism of \u201cPiety and Learning\u201d remains alive and compelling, inviting young men today to listen generously to God\u2019s call and serve with faith, intellect, and compassion.<\/p>\n
