The Piarists of Hungary celebrate the priestly ordination of Lengv\u00e1ri<\/em><\/p>\n

On Saturday, 11 April, Bishop Tibor Berta ordained to the priesthood the Piarist Csaba Lengv\u00e1ri, named in honour of Saint Stephen, King of Hungary.<\/p>\n

The ordination Mass took place in the Piarist Church of Kecskem\u00e9t, in the presence of a large festive assembly: fellow religious, family members, friends and students.<\/p>\n

In his homily, the Bishop underlined that priestly ordination is a courageous mission in today\u2019s world, one that requires the courage of the apostles, especially Peter and John. Their faith was like a burning fire that did not destroy, but renewed, opened hearts and transformed people. The vocation of the priest is to remain close to the \u201cfire\u201d of Christ, to allow that love and hope to transform him, and to pass on that fire to others through his teaching and service.<\/p>\n

He stressed that the centre of priestly life is the living relationship with Jesus, from which joy and consolation spring, and which also becomes a source for the faithful. The Church \u2014 despite all her human weaknesses \u2014 remains today a challenge to the world, because she belongs to Christ and represents a reality before which no one can remain indifferent, but which calls every person to make a decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cDear Csaba, today in this holy Mass I pray that, in your priestly ministry, you may be a diligent and faithful servant of this Church, which draws its strength from the saving act of Christ that surpasses every earthly measure, manifested on the tree of the Cross, when He conquered the world, sin and the dominion of Satan, and then, by rising from the dead, opened for the human person the way to eternal life.<\/em><\/p>\n

May the intercession of Saint Stephen, King of Hungary, of Saint Joseph Calasanz and of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Great Lady of Hungary, help you in this. Amen.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
