The Congregation of the Pious Schools has organized the International Congress on Piarist Education, Coedupia 2017, which will be held from April 18 to 22, 2017 in the city of Santiago de Chile.<\/p>\n
The Congress coincides with the celebration of the Calasanctian Jubilee Year which, through 2017, commemorates the 400 anniversary of the creation of the Order and the 250th anniversary of the canonization of its Founder, Saint Joseph Calasanz. As shown by Fr. Pedro Aguado, General of the Piarists, , “the Congress is an opportunity for Piarist educators of countries to meet and share our experiences and challenges, to seek together ways of renewal, to learn together, to build new educational horizons”.<\/p>\n
The Congress will be attended, among others, by Professor Dennis Shirley from Boston College, the theologian Arturo Bravo, the Director of the Latin American Center of Learning and Solidarity Service (CLAYSS) Mar\u00eda Nieves Tapia and the pedagogue Jos\u00e9 M\u00aa Bautista. In addition to the main lectures, there will be a series of roundtables, workshops and testimonials throughout the four days of the meeting. The goal is to unravel the current challenges of education, deepening in the figure of Jesus as teacher and promoting an educational model integrated in the community and generator of living communities.<\/p>\n

Aguado -, in a world in deep process of transformation, we need to reflect on the contribution that the Piarists can do, from education, to build a more just and fraternal world, and to better respond to the questions and searches of children and young people of today and tomorrow: they are always the center”.<\/p>\n
