A good part of the fourteenth workday of the General Chapter has been dedicated to go deep into the piarist formation, while the final session was dedicated to the mission in Peru.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The eucharist was presided by the USA – Puerto Rico Province. The Father Provincial Fernando Negro sharen during his homily the reflection coming from a Gospel passage that talks about the Presentation of baby Jesus in the Temple. \u2018The baby was presented in the Temple with humility and poverty, in this same way we present our life as consecrated, centered in the Spirit, walking together through the path\u2019, said Fr Negro.<\/p>\n

In the Chapter Room, the morning was dedicated to deepen into the Permanent Formation Directory. This is a document that sets the formation lines of the piarist and was presented by its responsibles: Fr Juan Carlos Sevillano and Fr Julio \u00c1lvarez. The interventions have given the value to the work that has been done by the Commision by acknowledging their effort and the importance of the piarist formation. Later, the Order\u2019s historitian, Fr Jos\u00e9 Pascual Burgu\u00e9s intervened during the last hour of the morning sessions to bring some curiosities, anecdotes and history about the General Chapters that the Order has celebrated throughout its history. Burgu\u00e9s has explained why some Chapters could not have place in different ages, due to wars or, curiously, due to pandemics, like the Chapter from 1630 that has to be canceled because of the black plague.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, the Chapter work continued with the \u2018Piarist that we need\u2019 and in later we came close to some of the piarist realities with an online connection with Fr Jos\u00e9 V\u00edctor Or\u00f3n who exposed the Calasanz Institute of Education Sciences (CIES), Gladis Cu\u00e9llar, who presented the CIES -Nazaret and Fr Jean de Dieu Tagne who presented the ICALDE.<\/p>\n

The last session of the day, as usual, was dedicated to one of the missions that has been boosted in this last six-year term. Today was about Peru, explained with detail by Fr Carles Such. This is a reality supported by the Province of Nazaret. Fr Carles retale the adventure that this piarist arrival meant for this lands, where there are two piarist schools with over a 2,000 students and two parishes, with two presences in \u00d1a\u00f1a and in San Juan de Lurigancho. The famous quote of Calasanz \u2018Where there is lack of men, God shall fill the gap\u2019 has become true in Peru.<\/p>\n
