On Monday 11 September, the heads of the various Secretariats were called to a meeting with Father General Pedro Aguado Cuesta and the Assistant General for America, Father Julio \u00c1lvarez D\u00edaz, in the library of the Calasanz School Community.<\/p>\n

Leonardo Henao from the Pastoral Secretariat, Cecilia Miranda from the Education Secretariat, Father Fernando Luque from the Vocations Secretariat, Father Nacil Castellano from the Economy Secretariat and Ximena Baranda from the Quality Secretariat. Also present from afar was Father Miguel del Cerro, General Delegate of the Pious Schools in Chile.<\/p>\n

The aim of the meeting was to make a general diagnosis of the current situation of the Pious Schools in Chile and to present the “fundamental challenges of this year and the strong aspects that, if taken care of, will help” in each area of work. Each secretary briefly presented these aspects and pointed out the most important tasks they have dedicated themselves to during this period.<\/p>\n

The Order has made it a priority to work on three fundamental aspects in all districts:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Leadership<\/li>\n
  2. Initial formation<\/li>\n
  3. Work with young religious<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The commitment to these issues is linked to each of the nuclei that emerged from the 48th General Chapter. The only way to preserve the identity and sustainability of the works is to take care of those for whom the Pious School exists in each place. The charism of our schools must not be forgotten.<\/p>\n

    That is why it is so important that the leadership teams in each place provide the impetus, regardless of the fact that the local needs of each place must be taken into account.<\/p>\n

    Among the next activities planned for this visit is a face-to-face meeting on Tuesday 12 September in the auditorium of Calasanz School. All staff from Hispano Americano and Calasanz schools are invited to attend. At the same time, the event will be online for the staff of the Instituto del Puerto de San Antonio and the Calasanz Kurarewe de Curarrehue.<\/p>\n
