Since February 2024, the new community has started in Dili, the capital of East Timor. It is a Southeast Asian country that occupies half of the island of Timor, the other half of which is part of another country, Indonesia. In this new community, there are the four Piarist religious; Father Daniel Hallado (a Spanish religious) and three brothers of the community, Heribertus, Agus and Estavao.
This community is designed to be a house of formation and also serves as a house of welcome whose function is to receive young men who have a vocational interests and feel the call to be a Piarist religious.
Thank God, in this new community, several apostolic activities have been initiated. One of them is the programme “Hatutan Halasanz” (“Learning with Calasanz”). It is an after-school programme offered to children, teenagers and young people to learn two languages: English and Portuguese. In this project, they attend classes in the morning and in the afternoon and the activity takes place three times a week and is organised according to the timetable they have at school.
