On 21st February, Fr. Javier Alonso, General Delegate of the General Father for an Irreplaceable Ministry, convened all the demarcational ministry leaders from the different Piarist presences in the American Circumscription.

Fr. Sergio Conci Sch. P. (a member of the General Secretariat for an Irreplaceable Ministry) led the agenda, first explaining the vision and mission of the General Team, as well as the strategic plan of the General Secretariat, inviting all participants to join this project and contribute to the construction of the Pious Schools.

He shared that, so far in this six-year term, some Provincial Congregations, as well as the ministry team of the demarcations, have received support and guidance.

He then presented the COEDUPIA programme, requesting that it be implemented in the different demarcations, so that its message reaches educators and ultimately benefits children and young people.

Each demarcation then presented the current status of its ministry project:

  • Emilio Sotomayor for the USA-PR Province
  • Daniel Velázquez and Claudia Martínez for the Vice-Province of Californias, explaining formal and non-formal education projects
  • Martín Hernández, accompanied by Fr. José Guadalupe Álvarez, Héctor García, and Raymundo Rodríguez, for the Province of Mexico
  • Jesús Mari, accompanied by Oscar de Jesús and Karina Miliante, for the Province of Central America and the Caribbean
  • Juan Pablo Anduquia for the Province of Nazareth
  • Carlos Aguerrea and Fr. Alberto Prieto for the Province of Brazil-Bolivia
  • Leonardo Henao, Fr. Clément, and Fr. Miguel del Cerro for the General Delegation of Chile
  • Guillermo Serpez for Argentina

Fr. Sergio Conci then invited participants to provide feedback on the recent Leadership course.

Additionally, Leonardo Henao and Fr. Juan Pablo Anduquia presented some diplomas offered by Cristóbal Colón University, including:

  • Diploma in Pastoral Ministry
  • Diploma in Piarist Educational Pastoral Ministry
  • Diploma in Christian Education

Following this, Fr. Sergio Conci requested that participants give their input on the document regarding the Profile of the Piarist Educator, which is currently under development. Finally, Dr. Alfonso Ortiz presented the university’s academic offering in the field of pedagogy, of Cristobal Colon University.
