Every parish is a community of communities, including Piarist parishes. In addition to sacramental life, those in the Polish province offer a wide range of commitments and training in small groups, including groups linked to the Catholic charismatic renewal movement.

From 21 to 23 February, in the retreat house run by the Carmelites in Czerna, near Krakow, a meeting of the parish communities of the movement of renewal in the Holy Spirit took place for the second time. Eighty people from the following groups of Piarist parishes took part: “Breath of the Father” from Jelenia Góra – Cielice, “I am” from Krakow – Rakowice, “Eternal Covenant” from Krakow – Wieczysta, “In the Heart of Mary” from Łapsze Niżne and a group called “Nicodemus” from the diocesan parish of the Holy Trinity in Tarnów.

The participants took part in the daily Eucharist together, listened to the talks, prayed hymns and adored the Blessed Sacrament. There were also many opportunities to socialise and share experiences, spend time together and enjoy the cakes brought from different parts of Poland. All this was reported to us by Fr Tomasz Jędruch, the provincial assistant for the parishes. Father Artur Rychta, a Carmelite, was the spiritual leader of the meeting. Alluding to ‘The Dwellings of the Inner Castle’ by St Teresa of Avila, he introduced the participants to the world of inner prayer.
