This year’s theme, “Your Root,” is an invitation to reflect on the importance of being well-rooted: having solid foundations that provide identity and inner strength. It is a notion deeply rooted in the Word of God. St Paul reminds us in Colossians 2:7: “Be rooted and built up in Christ, firm in the faith as you were taught.” To be rooted in Christ means to have our foundation in Him, from which we grow as individuals and as a community. Deep roots allow us to withstand storms, remain firm in difficult times and bear fruit.
The theme “Your Root” invites us to look inward—towards that which gives us identity and meaning. It is a proposal to reconnect with our personal story—with its lights and shadows—and to rediscover that place where God speaks, sustains and recreates our lives. In this way, as we come to know ourselves better, we also become more open to hearing God’s call. Only from a strong root can an authentic vocation grow: a committed response to what each person is called to be and to give.
In the context of the Pious Schools, this theme encourages us to return to our charismatic roots, to what truly unites and nourishes us as a community. Rooted in Christ and in the spirit of our Founder, we can grow with meaning and bear abundant fruit. Thus, “Your Root” is more than just an image; it is an invitation to live with purpose, rooted in what truly gives life.
