He was born in Barcelona on June 29, 1935. A student of the Pious Schools, he decided, at the end of his secondary studies, to enter the Order. After completing his initial formation, he made his solemn profession in 1958 and was ordained priest on June 24, 1962.
After some initial years of activity in Catalonia, he arrived in Mexico in 1969. An encounter with a street child in the Mexico City subway in 1974 was a decisive experience in orienting his life and apostolate towards the work of the “Hogares”. Fr. Alejandro would become “Chinchachoma” (the one with the bald head), becoming one with them to educate them in self-respect, solidarity with others and the love of God.
On the 26th anniversary of his death, his figure and his voice resound in the Pious Schools with the prophetic tone of one who invites us to seek, at this time, the best way to serve God by doing good to the little ones, following in the footsteps of St. Joseph Calasanz.
