From August 19 to 21, 2025, nearly 60 juniors from the Province of Central Africa gathered at the Juniorate in Bamenda, Cameroon, for their annual assembly. The theme was “Piarist Schools Going Forth: A Call to Become a New Calasanz”

The assembly was attended by the Provincial Superior, Fr. Moses Kongmi; the Provincial Assistant for Initial Formation, Fr. Valery Muaffo; and Moderator of the assembly, Fr. Alex Djoussé. Discussions were inspired by the Capitular Document of the 48th General Chapter and documents from the Magisterium of the Church, particularly Evangelii Gaudium and Laudato Si’.

This assembly was an opportunity for the Juniors to better understand their mission in today’s world, with a focus on:

  • Action towards the peripheries: Reaching out to people in geographical and existential peripheries.
  • Justice, peace, and the integrity of creation: Promoting the values of justice, peace, and respect for creation.
  • Interculturality: Embracing and promoting the richness of different cultures.
  • The communal dimension of the mission: Valuing community life as a place of service and transformation.
  • Integral sustainability: Growing in a vision of integral sustainability.

Additionally, the assembly strengthened the bonds of fraternity and communion among the Juniors, offering a space for prayer, mutual support, and sharing of experiences.
