“Rooted in Christ” is the current annual motto of the Province of Argentina, and on 26 March 2026 the Province of Argentina of the Order of the Pious Schools celebrated, with deep gratitude and joy, the priestly ordination of Fr Diego Correa of Jesus Emmanuel, Sch. P., conferred through the laying on of hands of His Eminence Cardinal Ángel Sixto Rossi, S.J., and lived as a sign of hope for the Church and for the Piarist mission. After the celebration, the new priest presided at his First Mass on Sunday in the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Córdoba.
This event is understood as the culmination of a vocational journey accompanied by the community and sustained by grace. In November 2025, Diego made his Solemn Profession and, the following day, was ordained deacon in Saint Joseph Calasanz Parish (Buenos Aires), in an atmosphere of gratitude and ecclesial communion.
Priestly ordination places Diego at the heart of the Piarist ministry: a priesthood that becomes service and mission, especially where life is most fragile.
Within this horizon, the Piarist priesthood is not understood as an isolated ministry, but as a vocation lived in community, in collaboration with lay men and women, and with its gaze fixed on children and young people — particularly the poorest — as a privileged place of encounter with Christ. The Calasanctian tradition expresses it in its well-known synthesis: “Piety and Learning”, that is, faith made concrete and culture shared in order to dignify life and open a future.
We entrust the ministry of Fr Diego Correa, Sch. P. to the intercession of Saint Joseph Calasanz, asking the Lord to make it fruitful in the Church and in the Order, and that his priestly life may be — with simplicity and availability — a concrete expression of the charism received: to serve, to educate and to evangelise, with particular love for the most vulnerable children and young people.
