During this year, several economic visits have been carried out. At the end of February, János Valaczka, the General Treasurer, together with Carlos López de Lerena and José Antonio García Campos, members of the Economic Technical Office, visited the Province of Central America and the Caribbean on the Caribbean island of Santo Domingo.

In March they undertook a journey with several stages: they began with a visit to the Province USA-PR in New York, and later travelled to Veracruz for a brief visit to the Generalate House and the Universidad Cristóbal Colón. Afterwards, the journey continued to Mexico City, where the economic visit to the Province of Mexico was carried out.

The third official economic visit is taking place these days in Yaoundé, where the team is visiting the Province of Central Africa.

The purpose of the economic visits is to gain first-hand knowledge of the financial situation of the Provinces, their local particularities, the regulatory environment, and also their challenges and difficulties. On that basis, the team formulates proposals for improvement and, when necessary, establishes measures to address the most urgent matters.
