Today’s afternoon/morning has begun with the hand of Nazareth, with an invitation to unity and to put everything in common, as the first disciples: “The multitude of believers had one soul and one heart. They didn’t call any of their possessions their own, before they had everything in common.” (Act, 4.32)
After the equator of the Assembly, the first working session has been focused on establishing the Strategic Lines of the Fraternity for the next six years. Alberto Cantero presented the proposal and in small groups a rich dialogue has opened. It has been a nice opportunity to be able to dialogue, making concrete and visible that “dream” together, and time as has always passed us flying.
The second session had as its nuclear moment the election of the new General Council of the Fraternity. A Council to look after, and which will accompany the journey of the existing Fraternities and the birth of all those who the Spirit wants to be born.
Guillermo Gómez has been in charge of explaining the entire voting process, has presented the candidate of each Fraternity and then the vote has been held. The new General Council of the Fraternity for the next six-year period consists of Ilona Rudka (Fraternity of Poland), Carolina Paredes (Central American and Caribbean Fraternity), Alberto Cantero (Fraternity of Emmaus) and Alfredo Marcos (Fraternity of Bethany), in addition to the representative elected by the Father General. Pedro Aguado has welcomed and congratulated them, stressing that the four can do this service of accompanying and growing our Fraternities very well.
With an atmosphere of joy, the work is terminated until tomorrow. As every day, we have traveled to Mexico, Poland and Emmaus, to learn more about some meaningful experiences.
Today we do not want to end without thanking the outgoing Council brothers for their dedication during the nearly seven years. Also, we thank the courage and generosity of the new brothers to accept this service.
