The Vice-Provincial Chapter, which began on 23th of January 2023, elected as Vice-Provincial Superior of Californias Fr. Daniel Velázquez González, born in Uruapan, Michoacán, Mexico. He was born on January 25th, 1978 and entered the Joan Figueras Novitiate in Mexico in 2003. He professed his first religious vows in 2004 and made his solemn profession in 2010 at St. Lucy’s Church in Los Angeles, USA. Finally, he was ordained to the priesthood in 2012, in the same city.
During his Piarist journey, he has been the treasurer of the demarcation since 2019, as well as vice-provincial assistant for mission and works since 2015. He served in pastoral ministry in Saraguro, Ecuador in 2007, during his formative years. He currently resides in the juniorate formation house in Tijuana and participates in the initial formation team, he is also the Director of HOCATI Tijuana, works as vice-provincial delegate of Non-Formal Education, and is responsible for the Solidarity Education Foundation in Californias.
We are grateful for his service as major superior of this exciting frontier mission in favour of the most disadvantaged. We encourage his management and leadership to be good news for the children and young people by enhancing the current Culture of Order.
