On Sunday, 12 February, the novice José Gabriel Aimaretti took his simple vows in the Church of St. Thomas College (Córdoba, Argentina). The Mass was presided over by Fr. Provincial, Sergio Conci, and concelebrated by several Piarist priests. Marcelo Benítez and Guillermo Serpez, provincial assistants, accompanied José during his novitiate year.

Several members of his large family, friends, close friends of the Pious Schools, fraternity members, Iter Calasanz (Calasanz Movement), and teachers participated with great joy. The formandi also lived the celebration, participating actively in different ministries.

Joseph was delighted to be able to profess as Poor of the Mother of God, publicly manifesting his desire to be all of Christ, living in his image in chastity, poverty and obedience, giving himself mainly to the education of children and young people. He adopted the name of the religious “of the Child Jesus”, discovering the call to become like the child and contemplating the Child Jesus in every child who meets him.

We thank God for his love, manifested in Joseph’s self-giving, responding to Christ’s self-giving for us. Finally, we ask God significantly to sustain him and to increase his vocation so that he may be “a saint, a true son of the great Calasanz”.
