Last December (26-29 December 2022), the religious of the Piarist Vicariate of the Congo (RDC) met in Kikonka for the very first time in an assembly under the impulse of Fr. Pierre DIATTA Sch. P., Major Superior of the Vicariate. A total of 20 solemnly and simply professed religious participated. According to the Superior’s opening remarks, the objective was to get to know each other better, share, reflect, pray, have fun, and express our dreams, with a genuine desire to grow together as brothers.
During this extraordinary fraternal meeting, we had a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Mgr Jean-Crispin KIMBENI, Bishop of Kisantu, followed by a talk on vocation, consecration and mission. It was a very enriching moment. The rest of the days were filled with presentations of the realities of our different Piarist presences and exchanges and with sports and other moments of relaxation. Work and leisure were well articulated in this assembly for the good of all the brothers.
