On March 27, in the Madrid district of Aluche (Madrid), in the presence of members of the Piarist Community of Aluche and representatives of the City Council, the  plaque for the street dedicated to Saint Joseph of Calasanz was unveiled.

The Madrid City Council decided in February of this year to dedicate a street in the Latina district of the capital city of Madrid to Saint Joseph of Calasanz, in honour and recognition of our holy father who founded the first public and gratuitous school in 1597 and created the Pious Schools in 1617.

The street begins at Avenida del Padre Piquer and ends at Calle de Tembleque. The Colegio de Nuestra Señora de las Escuelas Pías de Aluche is located near the newly constructed street.
