The institutional act to promote the Cause of Beatification and Canonisation of the Venerable Glicerio Landriani de Cristo Sch. P. gathered at the General House of San Pantaleo: Piarists, religious of the Calasanctian Family and friends.
The participants of the event, who came from Italy, Hungary, Poland, Spain and Argentina, were welcomed by Fr Ciro Guida Sch.P. and Fr Józef Matras Sch.P..
The General Congregation, representatives of the Institutes of the Calasanctian Family and the Calasanz Movement supported the initiative to present the new portrait of Landriani (made by the painter D. Raúl Berzosa), a new reliquary for the Heart of Glicerio and the youth work “Heart and Soar” by Fr. Marcelo Benitez, Sch. P.
FIRST PART: Glicerio Landriani, Person and Call to Holiness
Father Alberto Royo Mejía, Faith Promoter of the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints, underlines the importance of the beatification and canonisation processes for the life of a religious family. Accompanying and promoting the processes is a sign of life that circulates in every institution and promotes veneration and knowledge of the witnesses of the Calasanctical life.
Fr. Angel Ayala Guijarro Sch. P., General Postulator of the Pious Schools, illuminated some facets of the life and spiritual profile of Venerable Glycerius of Christ, focusing on the person and reputation of the holiness of Landriani.
PART TWO: Presentation of the reliquary, the portrait and the work “Heart and Soar”.
The presentation of the new portrait of Glycerius created by Mr Raul Berzosa, the new reliquary for the Heart of Glycerius and the work “Heart and Soar” will be the focus of the second part of the event. M. Urzsula Kwasniewska Sch. P., moderates the dialogue with D. Antonino Cottone, relic researcher; D. Salvador Aguilera López, official of the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments and Fr. Marcelo Benítez Sch.P., author of the work “Heart and Soar”.
CONCLUSION
Father General Pedro Aguado Cuesta Sch. P. concludes the institutional act. In his words, he underlines the centrality of the figure of Glicerio de Cristo in the formation of the Pious Schools and proposes him as a role model for young Piarists who are enthusiastic about the Calasanz project and the Calasanz Movement.
After the prayer asking for Landriani’s intercession, there was an aperitif where impressions of the experience were shared.
