From 30 April to 3 May, Kraków became the capital of youth sport, healthy competition and Piarist integration. They were intense days, rich in unforgettable emotions, effort poured out on the playing fields and, above all, a beautiful spirit of fraternity.

More than 190 athletes and great emotions

This year’s Parafiada attracted an impressive number of participants. No fewer than 190 boys and girls aged between 10 and 15 took part. The young athletes were divided into two age categories, creating the ideal conditions for fierce but fair competition. The fields hosted:

  • 17 teams in the younger category.
  • 9 teams in the older category.

From the first whistle to the final minute of the tournament, enormous determination could be seen on the faces of the players. Emotions ran high, and the cheering of the public and team-mates echoed throughout the sports complex.

Competition on several fronts: from the field to culture

The Parafiada is not just one discipline: it is a true test of versatility. Participants had to show skill, endurance in running, teamwork and also mental agility. The challenges took place in the sports halls of the Piarist Primary School and Secondary School in Kraków, as well as on the nearby modern pitch.

The young champions competed in the following disciplines:

  • Football tournament: dynamic moves and many beautiful goals.
  • Basketball tournament: a battle under the basket until the final second.
  • Volleyball tournament: spectacular blocks and precise serves.
  • Cross-country race: a test of endurance and character along the competition routes.
  • Ball throw: a technical event in which strength and precision counted.
  • Cultural competition: because the Parafiada is traditionally an opportunity for growth not only of the body, but also of the spirit.

Rzeszów at the top of the podium!

Although every team gave its all on the field, the rules of sport are clear. After adding together the points from all the disciplines, the winners of the general classification were announced.

The most versatile team of the Parafiada

The title was won by the team from Rzeszów. It was the team from the Subcarpathian region that showed the most consistent form, both in team games and in athletic disciplines and intellectual challenges. Many congratulations!

We thank all the athletes for their outstanding attitude of fair play, the coaches and group leaders for the excellent preparation of the teams, and the organisers for taking care of every detail of the event. These four days showed the great strength that lives within Piarist communities.

See you at the next sporting challenges!
