On the weekend of October 15, the Annual Assembly of the Fraternity took place, which this year was held at the Royal College of the Pious Schools of Valencia and brought together almost a hundred religious and laity of the Province.

During two intense days, attendees were able to share concerns and hopes. On Saturday morning, Fr. Ángel Ayala, from Rome, presented the Formation Plan of the Fraternity for this year and proposals were worked by groups with the challenges to address in the future such as the relationship with religious communities, the access of young people to the Fraternity or the opportunity that open schools represent. The new members of the Council of the Fraternity, which is formed by Alfredo Marcos, Esther Morales, Lucía Gullón, Pablo Marín, Elena López and Fr. Provincial, Iván Ruiz, were also elected. Likewise, at the proposal of the Council, the Assembly elected Noemí Gesto as patron who will represent the Fraternity in the Itaka-Escolapios Foundation, replacing Pilar Ruiz who has been at the forefront during these years.

On Sunday morning the attendees shared the challenges of Itaka- Escolapios in the Fraternity and their role in the daily march of the communities. As a closing of the meeting, and together with the Piarist Christian Community of the school, we celebrated together in the parish the entrustment of Moncho Ballester as new pastoral minister. During the Eucharist, Father Provincial invited the fraternity and the attendees to continue promoting Calasanz’ dream, “always aware that the one who summons and sustains us is Jesus.”

Moncho Ballester, new Minister of Pastoral Care

During the Assembly of the Fraternity this weekend and in the celebration of a Eucharist shared with the Piarist Christian Community of Carniceros we celebrated the ministerial entrustment of Moncho Ballester Armela as Minister of Pastoral.

The celebration was presided over by Father Provincial Iván Ruiz and members of the educational community participated as well as young people from the Calasanz Movement, family, friends and parishioners.

The lay pastoral ministry shares with the ordained ministry the pastoral care of the Piarist Christian Community and the responsibility in the convocation, animation, conformation, and government of the same.

We thank Moncho for his availability to continue promoting together, religious and laity, the Piarist life and mission that the Lord gives us as a vocation.
