In the Calasanz Movement of the Province we offer all levels. We have tried to adopt the ideology of the Order and we have a leadership team or Provincial Secretariat of the Movement that oversees each Piarist presence in the four countries of the Demarcation. There is also a leadership team in each presence.
Here in Maracaibo we have the team of the Movement of the Presence that accompanies the realisation of the project of the Calasanz Movement. The meetings of the individual groups are organised throughout the year, both in the school and in the community. This school year, 420 children and 170 young people took part. The end of the school year is characterised by activities for the monitors as well as for the children and young people. A training week for the monitors took place in the parish and there was a holiday programme for the children at the school.
The training workshops took place from Monday 15 to Friday 19 in the afternoon in the parish. 5 speakers and 20 young leaders from the Caminantes stage took part. This year the focus was on the dimension of human growth. The topics covered were: personal development, self-esteem, conflict resolution, interpersonal relationships, legal aid.
We ran the holiday programme from Monday 15 to Friday 19. It was run by the school’s Caminantes Stage young monitors. A total of 23 monitors supported this week. A total of 100 children between the ages of 6 and 13 took part, some from the school and others from the surrounding community. The motto of the meeting was: With Jesus and Calasanz we go on holiday. They spent the whole week with leisure activities, shared spaces and moments of prayer.
