Next Tuesday, February 28, the III Chapter of the Province Bethany will begin at the headquarters of the Province at Gaztambide Street, in Madrid. The chosen motto is a nuclear expression of the preparatory document for the next Synod: “Called to walk together”. In the words of Fr. Provincial, Jorge Ivan Ruiz, “our Chapter is an opportunity to respond to the call that God, the Church and society are making to us today, which is none other than to allow ourselves to be guided by the Spirit, to walk together on a path where, through attentive listening to one another, recognizing ourselves as disciples of Jesus and convinced of the importance of communion, we can take steps to meet the Lord, who manifests himself in every brother, in every child, in every needy person…”.
The celebration of the Chapter coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Province, that is why the logo of the Chapter wants to represent the village of Bethany, with the typical construction of the houses in the time of Jesus and highlights the concept of HOUSE-HOME, where Jesus is welcomed and welcomes, because it is the place where the word is heard, healed, where one rests… A space of affection, friendship and rest, in short, a commitment of friendship with God.
As Fr. Provincial explains, “It is a matter of all of us continuing to build what we yearn for, and to make our Chapter a place where dreams germinate, where prophecies and visions are born, where hopes flourish, where trust is stimulated, where wounds are bandaged, where relationships are woven, where a dawn of hope is revived, where we learn from one another and create a positive imaginary that enlightens minds, inflames hearts and gives strength to our hands”. In short,” he concludes, “to find renewed ways to live centered on Jesus, who makes us all brothers and sons of the same God, and to place ourselves at the service of our mission”.
During the Chapter, which will begin on February 28 and end on March 4, each of the provincial work teams will present the work carried out during the four-year period, as well as their proposals for the future. In addition to the Piarist religious, who attend by right or by election, the Chapter will be attended by lay people, members of the Provincial Team of Presence, as well as the Fraternity Council. A total of 50 members.
