“‘Celebrate” was the motto of the Piarist Theatre Festival, which traditionally took place in Łowicz from 15 to 17 November. This edition brought together 170 participants from the following theatre groups

  • the school band from Łowicz, led by Beata Jeziorowska;
  • the band “JTB Junior” from the Bolszewo commune, led by Marek Czoska;
  • the school band from Poznań, directed by Anna Kop;
  • the group from the High School in Krakow, led by Tymoteusz Kufta;
  • the group of students from Bolesławiec, led by Natalia Pawlus;
  • the band “Mimesis” from the Bolszewo parish, under the direction of Marek Czoska
  • the “Atmosfera” theatre from the Rzeszów parish, directed by Damian Ruszel;
  • a group from the Primary School in Katowice, under the direction of Father Dominik Bochenek and Dominika Macura.

The festival’s actors not only had the opportunity to perform, but also to take part in workshops led by Jakub Michalak, Maja Ciesielska and Iga Maciejewska. These young theatre artists talked to the participants about how to physically prepare for a performance, how to warm up the body and voice, how to interact with other group members, how to fill the stage space, how to discover and interpret new emotions. At the end of the workshops, the experts emphasised in their evaluation the maturity of the actors, the skills shown and the emotions conveyed by the performers.

This type of event is an opportunity not only to perform their plays, but also to share a little more of their spiritual life: Spending time together, enriching each other, praying and having fun together, building a young Piarist community. In keeping with the language of the Festival, Father Jacek Wolan spoke of prayer as monologue, dialogue and conversation in his sermon on Saturday.
