Our dear confrere Fr Louis Lougbegnon Ainegnon was ordained deacon on Sunday 26 November 2023 in the parish church of San Giuseppe Calasanzio in Milan.
P. Louis is a young adult religious Piarist from the Ivory Coast who arrived in Italy in 2021, joined the religious community of the Nazarene College studentate, is in his third year of theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University and carries out his pastoral work in the parish of St Francis of Assisi in Monte Mario, Rome. He also took his solemn vows in the Order of the Pious Schools on 8 October 2023.
The newly ordained deacon was ordained to the diaconate through the laying on of hands and the ordination prayer by the Bishop Vicar of Milan, His Excellency Monsignor Giuseppe Vegezzi. The religious ceremony took place in our parish of San Giuseppe Calasanzio in Milan. The parish priest, Fr Alberto Magrone, addressed words of thanks and welcome to the Bishop, who presided over the Holy Mass according to the liturgy of the Ambrosian Rite.
Father Stefano Mario Locatelli, Assistant and Secretary of the Province, stood in for Father Provincial Sergio Sereni.
The Studentate community of the Nazarene College accompanied Fr Louis; present were: the rector and formator Fr Claudio Marinucci, Fr Gennaro Patrone, the pre-novice Antonio Ciaramella, Fr Patrick Foumane and Fr Pacome Gnada, both visiting fathers at the Nazarene.
After the religious ceremony, Fr Louis addressed the parishioners to receive their best wishes and good wishes for his new ministry. Refreshments were then organised and offered by the Piarist Community and the parish community.
We thank God for the precious gift of the person and vocation of Fr Louis Ainegnon and pray that the Lord will send religious and priestly vocations to the Italian Pious Schools.
