Christmas, this year, would has been a special one for our Order. Indeed, this Sunday, December 26, in our parish San Francesco d’Assisi, in Roma, took place the diaconate ordination of four religious, all living in the Calasanctianum community: Brian WOMEI, Brandon SEKUNA, André-Serge FOUDA and Viet VAN NGUYEN. The first three are from Cameroon (Province of Central Africa) and are completing their undergraduate theology degree at the Gregorian University this year. Viet comes from Vietnam (Province of Asia-Pacific) and, since last september, he’s following the course for formators in the same Roman university.

The Mass was presided over by the archbishop Ignazio SANNA, president of the Pontifical Academy of Theology, in the presence of Father Pedro AGUADO, Father General.  In this celebration, were also present some piarists priests, the piarists sisters, the parishioners of San Francesco and the friends of the new deacons. Within the limits of the sanitary restrictions due to the pandemic situation, a lunch was offered right after the celebration in the community of Calasanctianum.

May the Lord accompany them in their diaconate ministry, a ministry that lasts for the whole life, as emphasized by Father General.
