The fourth edition of the Piarist Educational Meeting took place on 14 and 15 March 2024 in Rzeszów. It is a meeting organised by the Provincial Council for Educational Innovation. More than 80 teachers from our schools in Bolesławiec, Łowicz, Kraków, Katowice, Poznań, Warsaw and Rzeszów took part.
The workshops are prepared and led by our teachers. On the other hand, the meeting serves as a space for the exchange of very innovative and very useful experiences. This year, the topics covered four areas: Polish mother tongue, English, Mathematics, Computer Science, early childhood education and pastoral care.
The participants could choose from the following proposals:
- Secret recipes for discussions about reading, presented by: Magdalena Bulira
- Oxford Debates, taught by: Krzysztof Witczak
- Running after the dictation of the language teacher, taught by: Ewa Żukowska-Śliwa
- Generators in the work of English teachers: creating attractive resources, taught by: Dorota Banasiak
- Ozobotes – what is it? Coding for English language teaching, taught by: Anna Krasuska
- A gifted student, joy or nightmare? How to organise work with gifted students, given by: Agnieszka Kotowska
- Ukulele: an instrument I will soon play myself, taught by: Karolina Stachowiak
- How to avoid overloading students with knowledge, given by: Kinga Drozd and Maria Stachura-Sołtys
- Maths in a different way, taught by: Fatima Argasińska and Anna Machnicka
- Maths for children, taught by: Father Slawomir Dziadkiewicz
- Seven ways to revise the material before the A-level exam, taught by: Marta Kostyk
- How artificial intelligence can help teachers plan and deliver lessons, taught by Renata Staśko
- InstaKod” for schools: advantages of combining maths and computer science, presented by: Tomasz Stachowicz
- Continuous prayer at school, held by: Father Dominik Bochenek
During the meeting there was time for teacher integration and a visit to the historical centre of the city. The Eucharistic celebration in the school chapel was led by Fr Jarosław Pabian, the provincial assistant for school education. In his sermon, he reminded us that being a disciple and follower of Jesus means not only listening to his words, but also passing on what we have learnt.
