A solemn Eucharist of thanksgiving will be held next Saturday, 30 September at 11.00 a.m. in the Holy Chapel of the Basilica del Pilar in Zaragoza for the appointment of Venerable Father Pedro Díez Gil, Piarist.
On this occasion, Father General Pedro Aguado will travel to Zaragoza to preside over the celebration, to which the Piarist Family of the city is invited: students, former students, educators, families, friends and all those who feel attached to the Pious Schools.
Father Pedro Díez Gil (1913-1983) carried out important socio-educational work in the historic centre of the city, remembered by generations of students and families linked to the Escuelas Pías School on Conde de Aranda Street in Zaragoza. On 20 May last year, Pope Francis declared him Venerable, a step before his beatification.
