On 20 January we gathered in the chapel of Jesus and St. John in Apizaco Tlaxcala to witness the definitive commitment made by three of the friars of the province of Mexico.
Those who made their final commitment were:
- Virginia Montes Rosas from the community of Jerusalén, Ocotlán, Tlaxcala.
- Carmen Isabel Guerrero Gómez from the community P. Manuel Arcusa, Apizaco, Tlaxcala.
- Adrián Velasco Macías from the Galilea community, Veracruz presence.
The celebration was attended by fraternities from the different communities of the presences of the Province of Veracruz; Ocotlán, Tlaxcala; Apizaco, Tlaxcala, Puebla and Progreso Nacional in Mexico City.
There were also Piarist religious from Mexico City, Tlaxcala and Puebla. The Eucharist was presided over by Fr. Provincial, Sergio Fernando Hernández Avilés, and animated in song by the choir of Professor Julio Carreón.
The Eucharist took place with great enthusiasm and participation, where one by one the three fraternities made their definitive commitment.
Signing as witnesses to this act were the teacher Emma Illescas, who presides over the council of fraternities of the Province of Mexico, Fr. Emmanuel Suárez, Assistant for Charismatic Participation of the Province and the Provincial of the Pious Schools of Mexico.
After the Eucharist, the Fraternity Fr. Manuel Arcusa, prepared a delicious taquiza in the facilities of the Instituto Fray Pedro de Gante, to entertain the participants, and especially the fraternity members who made their definitive commitment.
Let us continue united, let us work to strengthen the bonds between religious and lay Piarists, sharing the great mission that St. Joseph Calasanz has left us, educating the children and youth of Mexico.
Fr. Sergio Fernando Hernández Avilés, Sch.P.
