Blessing and inauguration of the Scholasticate of Kinshasa

On Friday, 23 January 2026, the new house of the Scholasticate of Kinshasa was blessed by Mons. Pedro Aguado Cuesta, Sch. P., Piarist Bishop of the dioceses of Huesca and Jaca. Indeed, since 23 December, the scholasticate community has already been living in a house belonging to the Pious Schools. Although the building is not yet fully completed, it was considered appropriate to proceed with its inauguration and blessing, taking advantage of the stay of the Piarist Bishop in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The day took place within the framework of a Eucharistic celebration that brought together the scholastics and their formators, the builders, several families from the neighbourhood and children. In his reflection, the celebrant recalled that the blessing of a house is directed above all to the life of those who will live in it.

After the celebration, a shared agape with all participants and friends fostered mutual encounter and reciprocal acquaintance with the people who live in the neighbourhood.

With deep gratitude to all those who have made possible the construction of this new centre for the formation of missionaries and witnesses of Christ in the Pious Schools.
