The pilgrimage of students from the last year of primary school, i.e. the eighth grade, to the Shrine of Our Lady, Teacher of Youth in Warsaw is already an integral part of the calendar of the Youth Ministry of the Province of Poland. The event took place on 8 March 2024. 250 boys and girls from schools in Bolesławiec, Katowice, Kraków, Łowicz, Poznań, Rzeszów and Warsaw took part.
This year’s special guest was Sebastian Karpiel-Bułecka, singer, musician and violinist, leader of the band “Zakopower”. In an interview, he answered questions about his origins in the mountainous Tatra region, his professional career, not only as a musician but also as an architect, and talked about how he lives his faith in everyday life.
The programme also included the Way of the Cross, which was led by Father Wojciech Wojda together with his students from Łowicz. The Eucharist was celebrated by Father Provincial Mateusz Pindelski. Fr Rafał Roszer addressed five points in his sermon: the motivation for the pilgrimage, a reference to the first reading in which the prophet Hosea calls us to return to the Lord; thirdly, he mentioned the words repeated in the responsorial psalm: “I am your God, listen to me”, and finally he explained the difference between listening and hearing.
