From 8 to 10 July, we had the opportunity to gather in Serra – ES for a Meeting of Formees from the Piarist Province of Brazil–Bolivia. Under the wise guidance of Maria Emília, Fr. Pedro Camilo (parish priest of St Paul the Apostle Parish in Serra – ES) and Bishop Andherson Franklin (Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Vitória – ES), we reflected on essential themes for our spiritual and personal growth.
Over these days, we explored topics such as personal development and well-being, and we examined our state of presence. We learned about the dimensions of humanity and the importance of listening to others, growing in autonomy and freedom, and not trying to live another person’s life for them. We also reflected on the importance of self-awareness, self-control, and resilience. Each reflection reminded us that we achieve nothing alone, and that continuously responding to God’s call is essential for spiritual growth. Many topics were addressed, each with its own richness. However, it is worth highlighting that perseverance is something that draws us closer to God.
Another profound theme was the importance of caring for our mental hygiene. We also reflected on spirituality as a lifelong path, and on the permanent formation of the man of God we are called to become. The meeting was enriched by the presence of juniores, aspirants, and prenovices. We believe that this gathering also served to share experiences and grow together in the Piarist charism and spirituality.
The contribution of Penha Maria was fundamental to the success of the meeting – after all, without food, we would not have achieved our aim! Another highlight was the pilgrimage to the Convent of Penha, which was a special moment of prayer and reflection.
We give thanks to all those who contributed to the success of this meeting: Fr. Deibson, Sch.P., Fr. Heyder, Sch.P., and Deacon Kevin, Sch.P., and we pray that Saint Joseph Calasanz, our Founder, may continue to intercede for us.
In Christ,
