On February 25, on the eve of the Feast of Saint Paula Montal and after the Eucharistic Celebration, we have celebrated the rite of the blessing of a new statue that has been placed in the Church of Saint Pantaleo and Saint Joseph Calasanz. The sculpture, made in Madrid by the Arteaznarez Workshop, is a polychromy made in resin that measures 1, 60 m. of height. It consists of an image of the Saint in her traditional habit, with a young and smiling face inspired by photographs of her, and she carries in her hand a book with some of her words: “Save the family”. At her side, there is a girl who makes the gesture of receiving the book that Paula offers her. The sculpture has been placed on one of the side altars, next to the image of the Crucifix.
The simple but solemn ceremony was attended by all members of the community of San Pantaleo, the Piarist Sisters resident in Rome, the religious of the Calasanctianum of Montemario and present guests, among them, one of the sculptors. Mother General, Divina García, wrote a prayer-presentation that was read during the celebration, extolling the virtues and gifts of Saint Paula and concluding with the invitation, from the sky, along with Calasanz and Faustino, to intercede for our Calasanctian Family on Earth to grow in fraternity and to be a sign of communion.
