Province of Asia Pacific, joyfully congratulates our newly ordained priest Fr. Hoang Ba Loi, Sch.P., of Jesus (Vietnam) –and deacons: Rev. Vungh Khan Khup, Sch.P., of Jesus of Nazareth (Myanmar) –and Rev. Nicholas Mung Suan Kim, Sch.P., of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Myanmar) – ordained to the Diaconate. The sacred ordination took place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 9:00 AM, at Holy Family Parish.
The Sacrament was conferred through the laying on of hands and the consecratory prayer by His Excellency, Roberto O. Gaa, Bishop of the Diocese of Novaliches. In his homily, Bp. Robee reminded the ordinands that to be found worthy when presented for ordination is purely God’s grace. Ordination is not a reward for personal achievement, but a gift from God. “You were ordained not to be served, but to serve.” Ordination blesses and strengthens the deep desire to serve. It transforms life into a mission. Every true desire must be entrusted to God so that it may be purified and transformed for His glory.
He emphasized that those ordained freely submit themselves to the authority of God and to their superiors. We must first submit our ways to God before we can truly do God’s work. It means letting go of personal comfort and self-interest, remembering that everything we do is about God. Obedience is essential—even when we do not fully understand. Through faithful obedience and humble service, people will see not the person, but God present in them.
This celebration marks a significant milestone not only in the lives of Fr. Loi, Rev. Khup, and Rev. Kim, but also in the life of the Piarist community and all who journeyed with them in faith and formation. Their vocation reflects God’s loving call: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I set you apart” (Jeremiah 1:5).
