On Saturday, January 25, the Vicariate of Congo celebrated the Eucharist of diaconal and priestly consecration for Brothers Cedric Mbembe Nikita and Cyprien Mpuba Booto, respectively, both of Congolese origin. The ordination Mass took place at the Cathedral of the Diocese of Kisantu, in Kikonka, Democratic Republic of the Congo.
It was a day of great joy, attended by several Piarists, including Fr. Pedro Aguado, Superior General, Fr. Pierre Diatta, Vicarial Superior of Congo, Fr. Felicien Mouendji, General Assistant for Africa, and many more Piarists who bore witness to the grace conferred by the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Mitja Leskovar, from Slovenia, and the Bishop of the Diocese of Kisantu, Monsignor Jean-Crispin Kimbeni Ki Kanda.
The Mass, attended by more than two hundred people, reflected the joy of those present through prayers, hymns, dances, and the deep joy of being children of God. At the end of the Eucharist, and on behalf of all those ordained, the newly ordained priest, Fr. Cyprien Mpuba, delivered words of gratitude to all the attendees.
Following the Holy Eucharist, the hosts welcomed all guests in the courtyard of the Piarist School in Kikonka, and amid great joy, they celebrated the blessing that the mediation of God’s love through a priest and a deacon represents for the Pious Schools in Congo.
