In Bangalore, India, the days of reflection and work of the Piarist Circumscription of Asia have begun. Stalin, Vice-Provincial of Asia, received the representatives of each of the Asian circumscriptions as well as the General Congregation and the Piarists invited to this meeting. The meetings take place at the Conference Centre of the Carmelite Fathers in Nirjhari.
Fr Pedro Aguado, who is chairing the meeting together with Fr József Urbán, the General Assistant for Asia, encourages the brothers to be open to the building of Pious Schools on the continent.
The horizon of these days of work and reflection will help to reflect on the 75 years of Piarist presence on this continent, but also on the challenges that lie ahead. Dialogue, presence, discernment, silence, prayer are just some of the actions of the participants who together will design a sustainable future for the circumscription from the impulse of the 4 Cores of the Order, the 4 Keys of Inspiration and its 11 Keys of Life.
Under the title ‘Pilgrims of Hope’, the Asian Days will take place from 16 to 19 September 2024. The meeting will be characterised by hope on a continent where the Piarist presence is flourishing as good news and as a novelty. The growth of the circumscription is guided by the missionary and synodal spirit to find ways of consolidation in the key of the Pious Schools on the way out.
Let us pray for the 32 Piarist Brothers participating in this fraternal meeting and for the impulse of the Order to continue realising the dream of Calasanz for the benefit of so many children and young people in Asia.
