This is the second day of four intensive days of work on the present and future of the Piarist circumscription in Asia.
On the first working day, each of the Piarist presences in Asia gave a historical and charismatic overview of the growth of the Piarist charism presence in Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, East Timor and India.
Each reported on the circumstances in each place, the dynamics of growth, the challenges and the opportunities for integral sustainability. This information serves as a prelude to the next step of discernment work.
After the Eucharist, presided over by the Vice-Provincial Fr Stalin Nasiance, there was dinner and a cultural presentation by the juniors of the Vice-Province.
On this second day of work, Capuchin Franciscan Father George Suresh gave a talk on the dynamics of evangelisation in Asia. Afterwards, each member of the General Congregation provided reading keys that will help in the work of discernment of the Piarist circumscription in Asia.
We thank all the participants and pray together with the Circumscription friars that their conversation with the Holy Spirit may be fruitful in a context of mutual listening and discernment.
