The Piarist Days in Asia, convened by the General Congregation, began on Monday 16 September in Bangalore (India) and ended on 19 September. Thirty-two religious from the various Asian presences, accompanied by the General Congregation and some of the Order’s team leaders, came together. The central theme of the conference was the ‘Culture of the Order in Asia’. The first day was dedicated to sharing the reality of each demarcation, in order to reflect from the second day on the keys from which we want to promote the development of the Pious Schools in Asia.

After an important day of synodal practice, the participants shared and discerned together what the Spirit was suggesting to them. Undoubtedly, this is a new moment and a new dynamic in the Order, in which active listening, prayer, silence and common discernment will grow like leaven in dough. In fact, this is already a sign that a new culture is being put into practise in the Order.

We will soon hear about the fruits of these reflections. In the meantime, let us continue to build the Pious Schools as a firm desire in our hearts, for the benefit of so many children and young people who do not yet know Piety and Letters.
