Hialeah is a town in the State of Florida which, due to population growth, has become attached to the city of Miami.
The parish of St. John Apostle and its parish school, recently entrusted to the Piarists by the Archdiocese, are located there.
During the month of July the community has lived a process of transition from taking possession of the parish, moving furniture, arrangements of the new house, interviews with the director of the school, meetings with groups, dialogues with the faithful, liturgical celebrations, the unforgettable visit of Fr. Alberto Sola.
In all this, the help of so many people from the Calasanz Movement, the parish groups, the Yeshua Bible School and friends who always support our community has been remarkable.
The religious who make up the new community are: Fr. Mario Vizcaino, Fr. Felix Ganuza, Fr. Luis Alberto Cruz and Fr. Ricardo Rivera.
This is how a new chapter in the history of the Province of the United States and Puerto Rico opens, with new challenges, with a large population to serve, with a school entrusted to develop it from our charism, with a retreat house to enhance our mission, with a group of aspirants to the Fraternity who have begun their discernment, with faithful and generous alumni who make up the UFEC (Union Familia Escolapia Cubana), with young hearts full of dreams and so many good people who join efforts to keep alive the dream of Calasanz.
