He was ordained on 25 April in a warm celebration, full of the traditions and joy of his village of Xochiojca, Zongolica, Veracruz. The celebration, held in the Church of Christ the King, was presided over by Msgr Francisco Eduardo Cervantes Merino, Bishop of Orizaba, Veracruz. He was accompanied by his family, the people of the village, Piarist religious and the local clergy. The following day, he celebrated his First Mass.
