“You are a priest forever”. On Saturday 18 March, the first vespers of Laetare Sunday, Sunday of joy, the priestly ordination of two of our brothers was celebrated in our Province of Argentina: Federico Bizzari of María junto a la Cruz and David Rennella of Jesús, María y José. The celebration took place in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of St. Thomas College, of which both are former students. Ángel Sixto Rossi SJ, titular bishop of the Archdiocese of Córdoba.
It was a great celebration of the whole Piarist family, accompanied by young people from all our houses, who wanted to come to accompany our brothers on this important day in their lives. Fr. General, Pedro Aguado, was also present by means of a message addressed to the ordained.
F. Federico presided at his first Mass on Sunday at 11am. Quoting the Psalm: “With what shall I repay the Lord for all the good he has done for me? I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord”, he thanked God for the gift of the priesthood. David presided at his first evening Mass, both in the same Piarist presence, acknowledging like St. Paul: “I am crucified with Christ. I live, but it is not I: it is Christ who lives in me”.
We thank God for this great gift He has given to our Province. But we also continue to pray: for our brothers, that they may be holy priests; and for more young men who will decide to serve the Lord, acting “in persona Christi”, for the glory of God and the good of the little ones.
