Loja, Ecuador
On 24 October, at our Educational Unit in Loja, our brother David made his solemn profession, received by Provincial Father Oswaldo Espinoza Fernández.
The celebration of the Eucharist—experienced by all with deep emotion—was attended by religious from Colombia, Peru and Ecuador, David’s family, members of the Piarist Fraternity, students of U.E. Calasanz de Loja, teachers, non-teaching educational staff and young men discerning a vocation from our presences.
David’s vocation had its origins in his family—especially through his godmother—and later at Colegio Calasanz Medellín. He entered our formation house and has undertaken a long and profound process of discernment to arrive at this day, so momentous for any Piarist: to say “yes” to the Lord forever, professing the vows of chastity, poverty, obedience and education.
We give thanks to God for his life, his fidelity, his loving dedication and his generous response to the Lord, following in the footsteps of Saint Joseph Calasanz.
May the merciful God grant him the strength to live his Piarist identity to the full—wherever He may lead him—with docility and love.
